Reutimann, who has struggled this season with three engine failures including Monday at Texas says he's been more interested in turning this season around rather than concentrating on the future. "This is my last year," said Reutimann of his contract. "I haven't talked to anyone else. The only people I've talked to is our own team. Reutimann still upset with Hamlin after wreck: David Reutimann doesn't buy the explanation Denny Hamlin gave for the wreck in Monday's Sprint Cup race at Pocono that may also have wrecked his chances of making the Chase. Reutimann said he never brake-checked Hamlin, as the eventual race winner claimed occurred prior to the accident on Lap 174 that not only took out Reutimann but also Michael Waltrip Racing teammate Marcos Ambrose. He said Hamlin basically ran over him in an effort to get position. "I was just trying to get away from him," Reutimann said on Wednesday. "In the end, if you push a guy sideways enough he's not going to be able to bring it back. I didn't hear [his] explanation, but I can tell you it's pretty inaccurate. I was in the throttle all the time to the point I was hung out so far I kind of had to do something." Reutimann went on to say he was as "mad as heck" at Hamlin, even though the two have exchanged text messages in which Hamlin apologized. "If a guy says he's sorry I tend to believe it," Reutimann said.(ESPN.com)

Reutimann wins Coca-Cola 600: David Reutimann stared at the gray sky and silently prayed for one more heavy rain. A gamble had put the journeyman driver in position for his first Sprint Cup Series victory, and so long as the clouds lingered over Lowe's Motor Speedway, it would come in the crown jewel Coca-Cola 600. Reutimann didn't like his chances. "These things don't ever go our way," the 39-year-old thought. "I don't know why it should now." For most of his nondescript career, Reutimann never got the lucky break. It finally came Monday after 75 races, three rain delays, a moment of silence, a spat with Tony Stewart and a 2-hour wait. NASCAR declared Reutimann the winner when an ominous weather forecast indicated it would be impossible to run the longest race of the season to its conclusion. (ESPN.com)

Reutimann -- Darlington safe despite speeds being up: Speeds at Darlington Raceway, which will have a Nationwide race today and a Sprint Cup race Saturday, are up considerably since repaving last year, but driver David Reutimann said that the track is "pretty safe." "No track is totally foolproof, but Darlington is a pretty safe racetrack," Reutimann said. "Because the track is so narrow, it's going to be hard for a car to take flight." (Winston-Salem Journal)
